Crystal Palace are interested in Portsmouth's Eyal Berkovic, while Nigel Quashie is wanted by Harry Redknapp.
Palace boss Iain Dowie is considering a bid for Israeli playmaker Berkovic, to add more guile to his attack.
The former Manchester City man has struggled for first team football this season, and would probably be allowed to leave Fratton Park in January.
Pompey chairman Milan Mandaric confirmed that there had been contact about the 32-year-old moving to Selhurst Park.
"There has been some conversation and speculation," said Mandaric.
"I should say more serious than speculation. But there is nothing official or concrete at this point."
Another Pompey player attracting interest is midfielder Quashie, who is wanted by former boss Redknapp.
Redknapp wants to take the 26-year-old to arch rivals Southampton, but Portsmouth are loathed to lose out to their South Coast rivals once again.
Redknapp made Quashie his captain at Fratton Park and sees him as an ideal addition to his relegation-threatened Saints.
Velimir Zajec is keen to offer Quashie a new contract to keep him at the club but a £1.5 million bid from Southampton may complicate matters.
Further bad news for Portsmouth comes as defender Andy Griffin has been ruled out for the foreseeable future after tearing his hamstring.
The former Newcastle man picked up the damage in the club's FA Cup tie with Gillingham and he could be out for some time.
