Stoke City have been linked with a move for Portsmouth youngster Lewis Buxton.
The 20-year-old saw a third loan move to League One side Bournemouth fall through last month after the player's representatives stated it was not in the defender's interest to take a loan move at this stage.
Buxton has failed to make an impact in Harry Redknapp's first team at Fratton Park and may see a switch to The Britannia Stadium as a chance to boost his career.
The link comes as The Potters announced that further funds would be provided to manager Tony Pulis to strengthen his squad.
Stoke have had a positive start to the Championship season and are keen to make their push for Premiership promotion a realistic endeavour.
