Scotland have confirmed that six players have pulled out of their squad for their friendly with Denmark on Wednesday.

Celtic trio Robert Douglas (pictured), Stephen Pearson and Jackie McNamara are out along with Gavin Rae, Stevie Crawford and Paul Dickov.

Manager Berti Vogts has moved to call up Scott Shearer of Coventry and Livingston's David McNamee as cover.

There are also major doubts over Christian Dailly and first time call-up Nigel Quashie.

One man set to make his debut in Copenhagen is Leicester's Peter Canero.

"Peter did well in the Under-21s and the future team games also," said Scottish number two Tommy Burns.

"Then, after a long time out with injuries, he managed to get into the Leicester team so all credit to him.

"The manager will be looking to start him on Wednesday. We will try to get somebody out there to help him but the problem with Denmark is that they have got somebody as quick, if not quicker, on the other side.

"I'm sure Peter can cope with that and whoever is on that side of the pitch with him will help to close them down or shut off the supply."
