JASON CROWE has returned to Grimsby Town for further talks over a possible deal.

The player is on the look out for a new side after being released by Portsmouth and has already held preliminary discussions with Blundell Park boss Paul Groves.

Now the defender is set to appear in a friendly for The Mariners and has no qualms about moving away from his Hampshire home.

"I would be happy to move to Grimsby, anything to get playing again," Crowe told the club's official website.

"I was playing regularly for Portsmouth but I picked up a nasty foot injury.

"I'm okay now though and I am looking forward to playing again."

The friendly will also offer a chance to two Italian players who are on trial for the week.

Torino duo Paolo Castellini, a defender, and midfielder Alessandro Conticchio are both expected to spend a spell at Blundell Park in the hope of securing a move to the club.
