CRYSTAL PALACE boss Steve Kember has revealed he is interested in former Eagles striker Neil Shipperley after ruling out a move for Rotherham ace Alan Lee.

Kember made an enquiry about Lee, but he admitted he would be unlikely to afford a deal for the Republic of Ireland international.

"I'm a big admirer of Shipperley," Kember told the club's official website.

"He left us because he had to due to the financial state of the club at the time.

"He is a proper number nine, but we haven't made an approach for him.

"However, I did make an enquiry to check on Alan Lee's availability but it would take a substantial fee to get him and that might rule us out of the equation."

Kember also revealed that there had been no approach for Hayden Mullins despite reports linking him with a possible move to Premiership new boys Portsmouth.

"There has been no official approach for Hayden," added Kember.

"Our valuation is well over £700,000 anyway."
