PORTSMOUTH have completed the signing of Derby County striker Deon Burton for £250,000.
The First Division leaders have been trying to sign the Jamaican on a permanent deal, following a successful loan spell at Fratton Park
The 26-year-old has now signed a contract which will initially run until June 2004.
Burton was understandably happy to have rejoined the club he began his career with.
"I'm delighted to be back at Pompey," he said.
"The deal has been stop-start for a while, but I'm glad it's all done and dusted and I can pull on a Pompey shirt again."
