PORTSMOUTH are reportedly set to have talks with injured striker Derby County Deon Burton over a permanent move to Fratton Park.
The Jamaican international is close to making a full recovery from a broken foot that has sidelined him for seven weeks.
Burton broke the fifth metatarsal bone in his foot while he was on loan at Pompey but is keen to return to the Division One leaders, once he is fit to play.
Portsmouth boss Harry Redknapp has targeted both Burton and his Derby team-mate Fabrizio Ravanelli, as he looks to boost his striking options further towards promotion to The Premiership this season.
Burton's agent Neil Sillett told The News that his client is in good shape following a recovery stint at the National Sports Centre in Lilleshall.
Sillett said: "He'd really enjoyed his time down there and would love the chance to come back to Pompey."
