Reading boss Nigel Adkins managed to look on the bright side despite yet more additions to the club's lengthy injury list.
Midfielder Danny Guthrie was forced to miss Saturday's 1-0 win at Watford while striker Nick Blackman was on the end of a red-card challenge from Alexander Merkel.
The Royals were already without a host of players including Wayne Bridge, Sean Morrison, Chris Baird and Hal Robson-Kanu but Adkins hopes to have some of them back soon.
"(Guthrie) has a calf injury, the heavy ground at Brighton took its toll a little bit," said Adkins. "But it gives others an opportunity.
"Nick Blackman didn't take part in the warm-down on the pitch after the game, he had a lot of ice on it in the dressing room.
"We've added to the injury list we've got, but look at it, when we get them back it'll be fantastic. It's a demanding season and let's look forward to the second half of it."
