Adrian Mariappa insists morale is high at Reading despite winless start

Adrian Mariappa insists morale is high at Reading despite the fact they are still waiting for their first Premier League win.

Disappointing

The Royals were on track to beat the Magpies before Demba Ba diverted in the equaliser using his arm - sparking a frustrated response from manager Brian McDermott earlier this week. Mariappa agrees it is tough to take, saying: "It is disappointing to lose a goal at any time but especially a dubious goal. That is just the way things are and we will just get on with it and move on. "The performance was good and that is the main thing, it will stand us in good stead this weekend. "It is the old cliche - you hope it evens itself out over the season, as long as we don't get too many of those decisions I'm sure we won't be complaining. "If we can keep the performances up and keep performing how we did in the last few games I'm sure we will pick up the points. "The last two games especially the performances have been good. Obviously getting the win at QPR bred a lot of confidence going into last weekend's game. "To be fair maybe we should have won it but like I said the confidence is high going into this weekend. "We have played against Swansea before in the Championship and their style hasn't changed since then, they have been a very good footballing side and a team that a lot of people admire. "We have played against passing teams before and we know how to set up and play against them and we will just be focusing on that."
