Skysports.com understands Reading are lining up a move for Swindon Town's highly-rated defender Sean Morrison.
The 20-year-old has impressed at the County Ground this season and he has scored five goals in 25 appearances in all competitions.
Morrison enjoyed a productive loan spell at Southend United last term and has subsequently forced his way into manager Danny Wilson's plans.
His form for the Robins has seen Reading show an interest in taking Morrison to the Madejski Stadium during the transfer window.
Reading boss Brian McDermott is looking to keep his team's promotion push on track and has already been busy in the transfer market this month.
He has extended Mikele Leigertwood's loan deal until the end of the season and has also made an offer for non-league striker Brett Williams after pulling out of a move for Plymouth Argyle's Bradley Wright-Phillips.
