Oliver Bozanic will not head back to Cheltenham from Reading when he regains full fitness after his loan deal with the Robins was brought to an end.
The Australia international midfielder arrived at the Abbey Business Stadium from Reading at the start of the season, signing a loan deal until January.
But he sustained a knee injury after just four appearances and has been back with the Royals ever since as he looks to make a full recovery.
He was due to return to full training soon and then rejoin the Robins until the end of his initial agreement early next year.
But all three parties have now agreed that he will remain at the Madejski Stadium and the original deal has now been cancelled.
Acting manager John Schofield told Cheltenham's official website: "Oliver did very well for us while he was here and I'd like to thank both him and Reading.
"I hope he is back to full match fitness before much longer and we wish him all the best for the future."
