Alan Bennett is hoping to secure a permanent deal with Brentford after helping the club to win the League Two title.
The defender has made 46 appearances on loan at Brentford this season after also enjoying a stint at Griffin Park last term.
He is out of contract at Reading in the summer and will not be offered a new deal by the Championship promotion hopefuls.
After failing to play a first-team game since joining Reading from Cork, Bennett is eager to stay on at Brentford.
"I'd love to stay, but there are a lot of factors," he told the Hounslow Chronicle. "This is my first full season in English football.
"I've had four clubs in two seasons, but this is the first place I've felt at home since I left Cork.
"That's a hard feeling to replace, and it means a lot. I hope something can get sorted out."
