Reading have signed midfielder Jay Tabb from Coventry on a two-and-a-half-year contract.
The 24-year-old made almost 100 appearances for Coventry after moving to the Ricoh Arena in 2006, but he is now embarking on a new challenge.
He joins for an undisclosed fee and will look to establish himself in a Royals side pushing for promotion back to the Premier League.
Reading chairman Sir John Madejski and manager Steve Coppell have both expressed their delight at the move.
Madejski said: "I would like to welcome Jay to Reading and I sure his signing will strengthen our squad as we push for an immediate return to the Premier League.
"We are entering a crucial final stage of the season and Jay's signing will bolster a squad that has already well so far this season."
Coppell added: "He is a player I know well and I am certain he will supplement our squad as we go into this final third of the season."
