Steve Coppell has said he is still in the dark over Leroy Lita's future at the club.
The 24-year-old returned to the Madejski Stadium after a successful loan stint at Norwich which saw him net seven goals in 17 appearances.
Following a string of impressive performances, the striker has attracted the attention of a number of clubs looking to bolster their squads in the January transfer window.
And Coppell admits it is unclear if the England U21 international will stay beyond his current contract which expires at the end of the season.
The Royals boss told the Daily Star: "There's no situation that has been defined. He's come back and he wants to play.
"If it was the last league game of the season, he probably wouldn't play, but I'll chat with him, see what his intentions are and we'll sort it out between the two of us."
