Reading have agreed for winger Hal Robson-Kanu to spend a second month on loan with Southend.
Robson-Kanu has impressed since joining the Shrimpers in August, scoring one goal in six appearances.
Southend boss Steve Tilson revealed earlier in the week that Robson-Kanu was likely to extend his stay at Roots Hall and the news has now been confirmed.
The highly-rated 19-year-old will now remain with the League One club until 25th October, although Reading have included a 24-hour recall clause.
Southend would only be allowed to extend the current deal for one further month once the current arrangement expires in late October due to emergency loan rules.
