Leroy Lita has stated he feels a connection with the Reading squad after featuring against Tottenham on Tuesday.
The England Under 21 striker was reportedly unhappy at a lack of first-team football this season, having made just eight league appearances this term.
However, Lita was thrust into Steve Coppell's starting line-up for their third round replay on Tuesday and, while he did not score, he was pleased to be back on the pitch.
"I definitely still feel a connection with the squad, I was involved today, I played," he told the club's official website.
"It was good to be back playing here. The lads have done really well, we gave it a good go.
"It's disappointing to be out of the cup, I thought we were probably the better side."
Reading tackle Manchester United this weekend and Lita is looking to work hard and maintain his place in the side.
"I'll train Thursday and we'll see from there," he continued. "I'll work hard, keep working and see how it goes.
"Now I just focus on training and look to the next game. I'll just carry on training, working hard and keep pushing."
