Reading manager Steve Coppell has played down talk that striker Leroy Lita could depart the club in January.
Lita has slipped down the club's pecking order this season and has made just eight Premier League appearances without finding the back of the net.
The former Bristol City man had hoped for a fresh challenge elsewhere, but Coppell has now stated The Royals are not looking to do business for the striker.
"Leroy is an important player for us, and a key component in our squad," he told the club's official website.
"He hasn't played as much as he'd like recently, but we are fully aware of his capabilities.
"He is under contract for another 18 months and we are not looking to sell him."
