Steve Coppell was proud of his Reading players despite the 6-4 defeat to Tottenham.
Reading were in superb form up front but dreadful in defence as Dimitar Berbatov inspired Tottenham with four goals.
Coppell was delighted with the attacking approach of his side but admits he may have to rethink his strategy in future, as the outcome brought back memories of the 7-4 defeat to Portsmouth earlier in the season.
"I loved 90 per cent of our performance, I thought it was magnificent," Coppell told
Sky Sports.
"We were positive, we wanted to get forward, we scored four goals and we had some great opportunities.
"And yet, when you look at the other end, having got our noses in front three times, you have to question them collectively.
"There were also some individual mistakes that cost us dear.

"It is difficult to pick the bones out of it immediately after the game but I will have to question our method now.
"Unfortunately for us we've been involved in a couple of those games, and that's the second time this season we've come away from home, scored four goals and still lost."
Jermain Defoe scored Tottenham's fifth goal as he headed home from close range after Marcus Hahnemann had saved Robbie Keane's penalty.
Defoe appeared to be well inside the area by the time Keane took his spot-kick, but Coppell does not believe it was a major turning point.
"When Keane was taking it Jermain Defoe was right on his shoulder almost, and that's quite an advantage in a 12-yard race," said Coppell.
"With four officials you would think that would be sorted, but he would have only had to retake it and chances are he would have scored."
