Steve Coppell has revealed that Liam Rosenior could make his Reading debut against Sunderland on Saturday.
Rosenior signed from Fulham on transfer deadline day, and was involved in a swap deal with Seol Ki-hyeon.
Coppell explained that the club have been working on getting the 23-year-old back up to match fitness, and he may utilise his experience at the Stadium of Light.
"He played in the game in midweek, but he's only played something like two in seven weeks," Coppell told the club's official website.
"You look to players who have been there, he's done 70-odd games in the Premiership so there's a good chance he will be involved."
Coppell also gave an update on the current injury news of his side, with Michael Duberry and Brynjar Gunnarsson looking unlikely to feature against Sunderland, while John Oster is definitely out.
"Duberry is still not right, that's the best way to put it. Bryn has a knock on the knee, and we'll have to assess him over the next couple of days," he added.
"Oster is making slow progress really. An ankle is normally four to six weeks, he's been four now, so we hope to see him in the next week or two."
