Bristol City have completed the loan signing of Reading goalkeeper Adam Federici.
The 21-year-old Australian has agreed a one-month loan switch to Ashton Gate after concurring on personal terms with Robins boss Gary Johnson.
Federici will provide competition for current number one Adriano Basso, with Johnson confident he will provide adequate cover if called upon.
"He will provide competition for Basso," Gary Johnson told the club's official website.
"He's highly thought of at Reading and they have agreed to let him join us to gain experience.
"We've been hamstrung a little because Wayne Hennessey has only been ruled out for a few months today, officially ending his loan spell. We've also hit a few brickwalls this week trying to bring in older, experienced keepers.
"Some have been on their way to us before picking up an injury, or someone they are challenging for a first team place has suffered an injury.
"But now we've got Adam on board and it provides us with good competition between the sticks."
Federici is expected to be named on the bench for City's game with Northampton on Tuesday evening.
