Rushden & Diamonds goalkeeper Billy Turley has inked a one-year deal at Oxford United.

The 31-year-old is currently serving a suspension for using a banned substance but can return to football in mid-July.

Turley will work again under new Oxford boss Brian Talbot, having previously played for him whilst at Rushden.

''Billy is looking to get his career back on track again, and is desperate to show what he can do,'' Turley told the club's official website.

''He is a proven goalkeeper, who was part of a winning team at Rushden and has a winner's medal in this league.

''He will be ideal competition for Chris Tardif.''

Meanwhile, Rushden striker Drewe Broughton will sign the one-year contract he agreed in mid-May on either Tuesday or Wednesday next week.

The Diamonds have also completed the signing of teenage keeper Jamie Young from Reading, although the length of his loan will be decided once the rules concerning the new transfer window have been officially laid out.
