Reading began the season with a three-point haul after a 3-2 win over Brighton.Reading began the season with a three-point haul following a 3-2 victory over Brighton at The Madejski, despite falling behind in the first minute.
The visitors started in superb fashion and Maheta Molango was the beneficiary of a blocked clearance to score at the near post after just 19 seconds.
Reading's reply was immediate and no sooner had they gone behind that Dave Kitson equalised to haul the home side back on level terms.
Brighton felt they should have had a penalty when Molango was felled in the box, however play continued after the referee took a long look at the incident.
Reading went ahead just before half time when James Harper lashed a left-footed shot inside the post for their first lead of the contest.
The Royals almost made it three when Kitson's header stuck a post and rebounded to safety, however it was three on the hour mark when Nicky Forster stroked home.
With Brighton seemingly out of the game they were soon back in the contest when Jake Robinson netted just moments later with his first ever league goal.
The Seagulls almost snatched a late point, however no one was on hand to tap home after a long-ball was redirected across Reading's six-yard box.
