PRESTON NORTH END overcame Leicester 2-0 to prevent their visitors from making ground on table topping Portsmouth

Ricardo Fuller was the hero for Preston, as he notched his tenth and 11th goals of the season to put an end on Leicester' six-match unbeaten run.

The Jamaican scored the crucial breakthrough goal three minutes after the break when he profited from Gerry Taggart's mistake before cutting in and firing past Ian Walker froma tight angle to leave The Foxes with a tricky task.

Fuller then made sure of things in the final stages of the match with his, and his side's second as he beat a couple of defenders before slotting past Walker to seal the points for North End.

Leicester will feel that they could have done better on their travels, whilst Preston will feel they can get back amongst the play-off challengers after this performance.

Crystal Palace could not sustain their superb defensive displays of late at home to Reading.

A goal from the ever-reliable Nicky Forster was enough to give The Royals a huge victory away from home.
