MILLWALL extended their lead at the top of the Second Division with a hard fought 4-3 win away to Reading on Saturday afternoon.
Top goalscorer Neil Harris was the hero for The Lions with a superb hat-trick and Ricky Newman was the unfortunate man to put through his own goal against his old side.
Sammy Igoe, Darren Caskey, and Jamie Cureton pulled goals back for the home side but it was not enough to prevent them going down to defeat.
Wigan moved into second place capitalising on Walsall's inactivity with a comfortable 2-0 victory over struggling Swansea at the JJB Stadium courtesy of two goals from Andy Liddell.
Northampton were denied an impressive win away to Brentford at Griffin Park as a last minute goal from Llyod Owusu gave the home side a 1-1 draw after Dave Savage had given the lead from the penalty spot on the stroke of half-time.
Cambridge secured a good 1-0 win away to Bury thanks to a goal from Tom Cowan after 20 minutes.
Port Vale and Oldham shared the spoils at Vale Park after a goalless draw with the home side missing the chance to move out of the bottom three.
