Bolton boss Owen Coyle has revealed he is working hard to add several players to the squad ahead of the new season.
The Trotters were relegated to the Championship last season after final day disappointment but are among the favourites to regain their Premier League status.
In order to achieve that, Coyle is believed to be chasing a striker and a midfielder to boost Bolton's promotion prospects.
"By the start of the season I want to add more players to what we have got." Coyle said.
"We have enquired about one or two, and we'll wait and see where that takes us.
"We're in there pitching and it has to be the right player and the right finance but I definitely want to add to the quality we already have.
"And there's no doubt I'll have done that by the time the season starts.
"I'd expect by the time we play Crewe it (the team) might be the same, but you never know how quickly things are going to go.
"If it runs into next week, then fine, but we are chasing one or two targets hard now."
Bolton step up their pre-season preparations with a friendly against Crewe on Saturday.
