Team GB striker Marvin Sordell hopes to play a key role in Bolton's push for promotion to the Premier League when he returns from Olympic duty.
Bolton were relegated to the Championship on the final day of last season, ending an 11-year top flight stay in the process.
Sordell is one of only three men playing at clubs outside the Premier League to be named in Stuart Pearce's 18-man GB squad.
The 21-year-old was a surprise inclusion having made just three substitute appearances for the Trotters last term following his January move from Watford.
"It's been tough, coming in and not being able to play," Sordell said.
"But obviously coming into what was a Premier League club at the time and learning off all the experienced players here and learning a lot off a top manager has been great experience for me.
"I'm disappointed, as any player would be, that I've not been able to play, although these things happen and I think everything works out for a reason.
"I think this season, obviously I'm very disappointed we got relegated, I can see it as an opportunity for me to play a lot more games and hopefully get this club promoted again."
Team GB will face Senegal at Old Trafford on Thursday.
