Former Bristol City midfielder hoping to impress Coyle

Bristol City boss Derek McInnes is resigned to parting with Kalifa Cisse's services, with the midfielder having linked up with Championship rivals Bolton on a trial basis. The Frenchman is out of contract at Ashton Gate and has expressed a desire to make a fresh start. Cisse has been unable to find a new employer as yet, but he is hoping to impress during his time with the Trotters. Bolton manager Owen Coyle is looking to explore all possible transfer avenues this summer and will take the opportunity to cast an eye over Cisse during a pre-season tour of Scotland. McInnes concedes that the Robins are likely to have seen the last of the combative 28-year-old, but has made it clear that the door will always be open at City if things do not work out elsewhere. "I had a call from Owen at the weekend to say they'd be taking a look at him and that was backed up by communication from his agent," McInnes told his club's official website. "The door isn't closed to him here at Bristol City but it's looking increasingly likely we won't be working with him next season."
