Megson rues dropped points

Sheffield Wednesday boss Gary Megson was disappointed with his side's 2-2 draw to Hartlepool after they threw away their lead.

Peter Hartley put Pools ahead early in the second half before Jermaine Johnson and Gary Madine fired the hosts in front. But Antony Sweeney grabbed an 87th-minute equaliser to ensure the game ended all-square. Megson said: "I think you have to be disappointed when you're 2-1 up with a few minutes left of normal time. "Another way of looking it is that we were 1-0 down against a team who were making life difficult for us, putting a lot of numbers behind the ball. "I think, overall, once you get to 2-1, you would expect to go on and win the game. I think we had 11 chances and they had two, which they stuck in. I thought it was a really crisp finish from Gary Madine and I was really pleased for him because it will do him the world of good."
