Bury have signed Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Giles Coke on loan until the end of the season.

Midfielder leaves Owls for second spell at Gigg Lane

Bury have signed Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Giles Coke on loan until the end of the season to help the club's tilt at the League One play-offs. Coke enjoyed a fruitful two-month loan spell with the Shakers earlier this season, scoring three goals in 11 appearances. Shakers boss Richie Barker has moved to bring Coke to Gigg Lane and the player's agent, Alex Cowdy of Touchline Soccer, admits the midfielder is relishing the chance of regular first-team football. "Giles was a regular for Wednesday last season, winning League One Player of the Month in August, and subsequently being scouted by several Premier League clubs," Cowdy told Sky Sports.

Impress

"He's found himself on the periphery this season, and he's far too good a player to be sitting in the stands each week. "Bury wanted to extend his loan after his last stint expired, but Giles had a desire to fight to regain his place in the Wednesday side. "Despite impressing on loan, he has not been able to force his way back into the manager's plans. "By going back to Bury and working with Richie Barker and Peter Shirtliff, who know his game inside out from their time at Mansfield together, he's got the chance to impress again and put himself in the shop window for a move to the Championship in the summer."
