Trotters move for American

Sky Sports sources understand that Bolton Wanderers have made a move for American international Tim Ream. The 24-year-old defender trained with both Bolton and West Bromwich Albion during the MLS off-season. Now Sky Sports has learnt that Bolton have made a move for the American international, who now looks set to make the move across the Atlantic. Ream has emerged as the most feasible candidate to replace Gary Cahill, who looks set to finalise his move to Chelsea this weekend. Ream now looks set to get his chance to play in England and will link-up with countryman Stuart Holden at the Reebok Stadium, subject to a work-permit being approved. The Red Bulls refused to confirm that Ream was set to sign for Bolton. "There are a few European clubs interested in signing Tim," Red Bulls general manager and sporting director Erik Soler is quoted by ESPN. "Other than that, we are not in a position to comment at this stage."
