Eriksson - Mills coming good

Sven Goran Eriksson believes Matt Mills is beginning to prove why Leicester City spent big on his coveted signature.

Foxes boss pleased with club's record signing

Sven Goran Eriksson believes Matt Mills is beginning to show the form that tempted Leicester City into spending a record fee on his signature. Mills joined the Foxes from Championship rivals Reading over the summer for a fee believed to be in the region of £5million. Eriksson immediately installed the 25-year-old as their captain, although early season results did not go according to plan for the ambitious club. However, their goalless draw with Cardiff on Sunday now sees Leicester in ninth spot and Eriksson has been pleased with Mills' displays.

Form

"Matty Mills is coming into form now and that is what we hoped when we bought him," said Eriksson. "He is a leader in the backline, is strong and steady and he was great against Cardiff. "It took him some time to settle, but I think that is normal. "Maybe we have a little different style of playing than he had at Reading last season, so it takes a little bit of time."
Gel
Eriksson, who signed 12 new players over the summer, added the club can no longer say they need time for their new players to gel. "In the first three, four or five games we could have the excuse of new players settling in, but not any longer," he continued. "We can't go on through the season saying we bought too many and need time."
