Cardiff City duo Kevin McNaughton and Don Cowie have been called-up by Scotland boss Craig Levein.

The pair's call-up to the squad for Wednesday's friendly against Denmark at Hampden comes after the withdrawal of defenders Alan Hutton and Steven Whittaker through injury.

Hutton missed Tottenham's challenge match against Athletic Bilbao on Saturday with a knee injury while utility player Whittaker missed Rangers' friendly against Chelsea at Ibrox on Saturday with a toe problem.

McNaughton and Cowie both played in Sunday's Championship win over West Ham at Upton Park, where Scotland striker Kenny Miller marked his debut for Cardiff with an injury-time winner.

All three will join up with the rest of Levein's squad just outside Glasgow, where they will begin preparations for the visit of the Danes in a game which serves as a warm-up for the crunch Euro 2012 qualifiers against the Czech Republic and Lithuania at the national stadium next month.
