Bolton were too strong for Hereford, while Liverpool continued to concede goals, Gillingham were upset by non-league opposition, and Crewe ended their pre-season with a win.
Owen Coyle's Bolton have impressed in pre-season and they picked up a 3-0 win over Hereford at Edgar Street.
Chris Eagles, Darren Pratley and Kevin Davies scored the goals and Bolton will now look forward to Friday's meeting with Levante having lost just one friendly so far this summer.
Earlier on Monday, Liverpool were held to a 3-3 draw with Valerenga in Oslo, when Kenny Dalglish's team conceded their 15th goal in five pre-season matches.
Elsewhere, League Two Gillingham suffered a disappointing 1-0 defeat to non-league Ebbsfleet at Stonebridge Road.
Crewe, managed on the night by assistant boss Steve Davis, rounded off their pre-season preparations with a 3-2 win at Wealdstone.
