Swede gets back on league goal trail

Bolton striker Johan Elmander insists he is happy to play in any position for the benefit of the team. The 29-year-old striker scored for the first time in the Premier League since December at Birmingham on Saturday although he could not prevent his side losing 2-1. Elmander has been playing on the right side of midfield of late - despite being an out-and-out centre forward for the most part during his career. The powerful Swede admits that he wants to score as many goals as possible, but claims the performance of the team is more important. "I want to score as many goals as I can. I targeted 10 goals this season and I've passed that mark," Elmander told the club's official website. "Now I hope I can score more and help us move up the league table. "I've been playing out on the right of midfield and also had a spell towards the end of the game where I played in the centre. "I'm willing to do a job for the team anywhere if the manager asks me to do so." He added: "It was nice to score but it would have obviously been a lot better had we come away with a win. "It's always nice to score goals because that's what I want to do as a striker. "Of course we're all disappointed to come away with at least a point. The goalkeeper had a great game and looking back we could have picked up not only a draw, but a win." Bolton next take on West Ham in the Premier League before a crunch FA Cup semi-final against Stoke the following week. Elmander said: "We'll now be doing all we can to pick up three points against West Ham. In turn that can help us generate some momentum ahead of the semi-final."
