Gary Megson does not expect goalkeeper Jussi Jaaskelainen to leave Bolton Wanderers in January.

Jaaskelainen has been linked with New Year moves to Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur after another impressive season between the posts.

The long-serving Finn signed a new four-year contract in the summer to seemingly end doubts about his future at the Reebok Stadium.

And Trotters boss Megson does not believe the 33-year-old will be seeking a move to a bigger club when the transfer window reopens.

Settled

"I wouldn't have thought Jussi would be going anywhere else," said Megson in The Sun.

"He seems settled here. He took his kids to view a new school on Wednesday and I'd expect him to stay.

"He signed a four-year contract a few months ago and, while things do change, there hasn't been any contact through myself or the chairman."

Jaaskelainen has completed 11 years at Bolton earlier this month and recently made his 400th appearance for the Premier League club.
