Birmingham City have snapped up Bolton Wanderers full-back Nicky Hunt on a one-month loan deal. Hunt has not made a first-team appearance for Bolton this season, with Gretar Steinsson firmly established as first-choice right-back. He was on the bench for Sunday's 2-0 win over Manchester City, but has now agreed a deal with Birmingham and he could face Coventry City on Monday night, live on Sky Sports 1. Blues boss Alex McLeish told the club's official website: "Nicky is a player who has massive Premier League experience.

Presence

"He was almost ever-present under Sam Allardyce, but hasn't figured quite as much under Gary Megson. "We need experienced players in defensive areas and Nicky comes into that category. His presence should bring a bit of confidence to the team and he has good athleticism going forward." With Stuart Parnaby and Stephen Kelly currently injured, McLeish was keen to bring in Hunt to ease the burden on teenager Jared Wilson. He added: "Bringing in Nicky is certainly no discredit to Jared Wilson, who is a very good young player. "But to blood a youngster by asking them to play week-in-week-out and then say 'we have got to get back into the Premier League' is a lot to ask of a youngster."
