Bolton boss Gary Megson has moved quickly to quash concerns surrounding the fitness of Fabrice Muamba.
The midfielder was named in Stuart Pearce's starting XI for England U21s on Friday in their European Championship qualifier against Portugal.
However, the midfielder was replaced by Wigan's Lee Cattermole after 56 minutes after suffering an ankle knock.
The injury was not thought to be too serious, but the youngster was withdrawn to avoid further inflaming the problem.
Megson has now confirmed the 20-year-old is not facing a spell on the sidelines and remains in his plans ahead of a weekend trip to Fulham.
"Fabrice is alright, he just got a kick," Megson told the club's official website.
"He'd been booked anyway so they just thought it was prudent to take him off, so it's not a major problem.
"He got a kick on his ankle and just jarred it."
