Bolton boss Gary Megson is ready to make a new move for Jimmy Bullard after giving up on signing Reading midfielder James Harper.
Megson claims Fulham have rejected Bolton's initial offer for Bullard, while Reading are hoping to keep Harper.
Bullard's future at Fulham has been the subject of speculation with the club refusing to discuss a new contract with the energetic midfielder.
Megson is keen to bolster his squad before the close of the transfer window and he has hinted he could make a new move for Bullard, but conceded Harper is no longer in his plans.
"We've made an offer for Bullard and it wasn't accepted, so we will have to see where we go now," Megson told the Sunday Mirror.
"But the Harper thing has been going on for so long now that it has run its course.
"Steve Coppell and Reading don't obviously want to sell, so on that basis we will move on."
