McCormack and Dennehy join Bluebirds

Cardiff have completed a double transfer swoop by bringing in Scotland striker Ross McCormack from Motherwell and defender Darren Dennehy from Everton. McCormack has agreed to join the Bluebirds in the Championship after reaching the end of his contract with Motherwell, despite reported interest from a number of Premier League teams. The 21-year-old made his Scotland debut in the friendly against Czech Republic on 30th May after a successful season in which he helped Mark McGhee's 'Well side clinch third place in the SPL.

Dennehy had been at Everton since 2005 but opted for a move to Cardiff above a new contract tabled by the Merseyside outfit. Meanwhile, full-back Kevin McNaughton has agreed a new three-year deal to further boost manager David Jones' squad. Chairman Peter Ridsdale said: "This is further evidence that we are putting together a squad that can compete to gain promotion to the Premier League."
