Birmingham midfielder Fabrice Muamba looks set to join Bolton after travelling to the Reebok Stadium for talks.
Muamba has been linked with a move away from St Andrews since Blues' relegation from the Premier League on the final day of the season.
Alex McLeish had been keen to keep Muamba as he looks to retain a squad capable of winning promotion from the Championship at the first attempt.
However, the Bolton News has now reported that Muamba will meet with Gary Megson for talks on Monday.
Megson has been on a break for the last fortnight but is now aiming to complete the signing of a player who impressed in the Premier League last term.
It is understood that a fee of £5million has been agreed between the clubs and a deal could be pushed through in the next 24 hours.
