Gary Megson feels Ivan Campo's experience could aid Bolton Wanderers' bid to upset Atletico Madrid in the Uefa Cup.
The veteran Spanish midfielder did not feature in the early stages of the competition after not being registered by previous manager Sammy Lee.
But Campo has figured regularly since Megson replaced Lee as boss and has been recalled for Bolton's European adventure.
And Megson expects the former Real Madrid man to play an influential role in Thursday's first leg against Atletico at the Reebok Stadium.
"Ivan was not in the original squad for the Uefa Cup games, but someone of his experience will be vital," said Megson in the Daily Star.
"Being a former Real Madrid player he's been pestering me ever since we got drawn against Atletico Madrid, but it wasn't a difficult decision to make.
"It will be a special occasion for him."
Megson is also planning to select a strong team for the visit of Atletico, despite Bolton's ongoing battle for Premier League survival.
He added: "It is a little unusual because we do not have a game at the weekend, so we may be able to do things a little bit different.
"But it will still be the same principles that Premiership survival is a lot more important than Europe."
