Bolton boss Gary Megson claims he failed with a bid to sign Leroy Lita before the transfer deadline.
Megson made a move for Lita as he looked to find a replacement for Nicolas Anelka before the transfer window slammed shut on Thursday.
However, Reading rejected Bolton's £7million offer for Lita leaving Megson to sign Southampton striker Grzegorz Rasiak on loan.
Megson admits he could revive his interest in Lita in the summer.
"We had a £7m bid turned down - that shows our intention to get out of this position - but it may be a goer in the summer," Megson told The Sun.
