Gary Megson has told Jussi Jaaskelainen there will be no talks about his future while Bolton are battling relegation.
The Finnish goalkeeper is out of contract in the summer and there has been speculation linking him with a move away from The Reebok Stadium.
Jaaskelainen has already turned down one offer of a new deal but Megson insists he is not interested in discussing the issue again at this time.
Megson is more concerned by Bolton's position in the bottom half of the Premier League, and has told all those players who are coming towards the end of their contracts to be patient.
He said in The Sun: "Jussi and every other person whose contract is coming to an end will have to wait until we can deal with it properly.
"One of the issues is our standing in the league. We are not in a position where we can plan long-term because we have short-term problems."
Megson is looking to strengthen his squad in the January transfer window and has been connected with Portsmouth's Matthew Taylor and Zoltan Gera of West Brom.
