Nottingham Forest boss Colin Calderwood has played down speculation linking a number of his stars with a move away from the club.

The likes of Kris Commons and Nathan Tyson have been linked with a move away from the City Ground after impressing this season.

Bolton boss Gary Megson has been credited with an interest in Commons, but Calderwood insists he has had no contact with any club for any of his players.

No contact

"There is obviously speculation in the papers, but we have had no contact regarding any of our players," Calderwood told Sky Sports News.

"It will only intensify between now and January and probably during January.

"And the only thing you can really enjoy through that period if the players are still performing it will only make it more apparent to everyone that we have got some half-decent young players here."

Calderwood is aware clubs are watching some of his players, but he is confident his players would snub any offers as they battle to win promotion from League One.

"I will be amazed if an offer became acceptable to take any of our players away, because the majority of them would want to stay and see out what's hopefully progressing at the minute," added Calderwood.

"The one thing that is true and is apparent to us, is the number of clubs coming to watch our young players and we are predominately a young team."
