Bolton door not closed on Spaniard

Sammy Lee concedes he was prepared to allow Ivan Campo to leave Bolton Wanderers over the summer. The veteran midfielder was given the opportunity to talk to other clubs, with Sheffield United rumoured to hold an interest. Campo opted to stay at The Reebok Stadium and marked his first appearance of the season with the equaliser in Sunday's 1-1 draw with Tottenham. Bolton boss Lee feels the 33-year-old's return to the side is proof that he will always give players a chance. "Out of respect for Ivan, I told him that if he wanted to speak to people I wouldn't stand in his way," said Lee in the Daily Mirror. "I don't close the door on anybody. I know it doesn't always seem like that, but I don't. "Ivan's come in and done excellently, as have others, and I'm pleased for them all."
