A late Seongnam equaliser denied 10-man Bolton a win in the Peace Cup.

Nicky Hunt was shown a straight red card early in the second half after he swung an arm and a boot at Seongnam striker Itamar following a rough tackle, leaving his team-mates to battle on.

Despite being reduced to 10 men, Bolton had taken the lead through Kevin Nolan, but they were pegged back late on when Kwang-Min created a close-range equaliser for Gil-il.

Prior to the sending off, Bolton had dominated the game but it was Seongnam who had the first effort on goal when the lively Itamar completed a mazy run by finishing tamely into the arms of Jussi Jaaskelainen in the Bolton goal.

Itamar continued to threaten and on 10 minutes the Brazilian broke down the left-hand side and rattled Jaaskelainen's cross bar with an early shot.

However, on 21 minutes Bolton began to convert their majority possession into chances when Nolan wasted an accurate Gary Speed cross at the far post.

Nolan then missed his second clear chance 12 minutes later when new recruit Gavin McCann found his captain unmarked four yards out, but with the goal gaping Nolan lost concentration and stumbled as he embarrassingly dragged the ball wide.

After the break Bolton's reserves were severely tested as first Hunt saw red on 54 minutes and shortly after Ricardo Gardner, who had come on as a half-time replacement for Jlloyd Samuel, was forced to leave the pitch with what appeared to be a hamstring strain.

Chances were then at a premium as Bolton looked to play for possession, but the Premier League side snatched the lead on 79 minutes when Nolan atoned for his earlier misses.

Kevin Davies flicked a floated Ivan Campo free-kick in to the path of Nolan, who had drifted into the penalty area from his left midfield starting berth, to volley in off the far post.

However Seongnam, who are in domestic mid-season, demonstrated their superior fitness by snatching their 88th minute equaliser when Gil-il slotted home from Kwang-min's pull back.
