Bolton boss Sam Allardyce fears Nicky Hunt could be set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
The Trotters full back was forced off at half time during Bolton's defeat at Derby on Saturday.
Hunt twisted his knee putting a cross in and Allardyce now fears he may have a bad injury.
"We've had a blow with Nicky Hunt. It looks like it's going to be a medial ligament problem," said Allardyce.
"We'll know more about Nicky's injury in the next 24-48 hours.
"His injury means - we've got quite a few which we could do with out."
New boy Quinton Fortune was also forced off with a tight groin at Pride Park.
