Lyon have warned suitors of Sidney Govou that the France international will cost £7 million.

Govou is being tracked by a string of clubs and has expressed a desire to move on from the French champions.

Premiership sides Blackburn, Bolton, Fulham, Middlesbrough and Manchester City have all been linked with the 26-year-old.

A reunion with former l'OL coach Paul Le Guen at Rangers has also been mooted, while Spanish outfit Valencia are keen on the versatile attacker.

Reports have suggested that Lyon would be prepared to offload Govou for a fee in the region of ‚é¼5 million (£3.5 million).

But the dominant force in French football insist Govou, who can play up front or on the wing, will leave for no less than ‚é¼10 million (£7 million).

"Olympique Lyonnais is astonished that a false value of Sidney Govou has been announced by affirming a figure of ‚é¼5 million as a likely amount for a possible transfer," read a statement on the club's official website.

"The value of an international attacker like Sidney Govou is obviously much higher, around ‚é¼10 million, considering his qualities, his status and the titles he has won.

"He will be 27 in a few days and, right now, presents an exceptional prize list."
