Sheffield Wednesday have targeted Stephen Purches as the midfielder mulls over a new contract at Bournemouth.
Owls boss Paul Sturrock is rumoured to be an admirer of the 25-year-old and is considering adding him to his Championship squad for next season.
Purches is out of contract at Dean Court and has been offered a 12-month extension to stay with the League One side.
He could be handed the chance of a move to a higher level with The Owls but Purches concedes it would take 'something special' to tempt him away from The Cherries.
"I am weighing things up at the moment but there is no rush to get anything done too quickly," Purches told the Daily Echo.
"I can say it would take something pretty special to make me want to leave this club though.
"There are a couple of other options at the moment. It is not fair for me to talk about which clubs I may or may not have spoken to.
"Although I can honestly say there is no concrete offer from anyone other than Bournemouth but you don't know what might happen."
Meanwhile, Owls chief Sturrock is also contemplating a permanent move for Joey O'Brien, after the Bolton midfielder impressed on loan at Hillsborough last season.
