Danny Livesey has left Bolton Wanderers to join Conference club Carlisle United on a free transfer.

The 20-year-old initially joined The Cumbrians on loan last month and Carlisle player-manager Paul Simpson has decided to take over the centre back's contract.

Livesey will remain under contract at Brunton Park until the season's end after the defender became surplus to requirements at The Reebok.

The youngster will look to help Carlisle back into The Football League this season, with The Cumbrians currently second in the Conference table.
